I’m doing better. Though, I still don’t have much to talk about. I’m making up math after school on Mondays, I’m hanging out with IRL friends a bit more often. Nothing event wise has happened worth mentioning, let’s just say my friends are – interesting. I’ve been talking to my Brother and he convinced me to take up poetry, so if I actually write anything I’ll probably post it.

Online news is also slim, school takes up most of my time. I’ve been planning more of my ArmA 2 Guerilla Campaign, I really want to do a large town capture/shootout thing, like a mini-warfare gamemode. I also want to make the campaign choice driven like the Original OFP and ArmA campaigns. Work has begun.

Speaking of ArmA 2; Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is out. Many of you know this as the franchise title that Codemasters jacked or the military simulator that lets you survive head shots. Now, I haven’t tried this game yet, I want to though. I’ve heard it was horrible and great from multiple people, but I’m still clueless as to the level of fun that it is. You can’t lean though, so that tells you a lot. I shouldn’t really say shit, since I haven’t tried it. End of this topic.

Aside from that, I’ve been playing the LURK mod for STALKER. If you know me good, you know I don’t like vanilla STALKER very much, Oblivion lost defiantly was the best mod for the game. LURK is really good, still. I can’t really judge it since my total play time of STALKER is about 2 hours on end. I’ve had some pretty cool and hilarious moments in the mod and the graphic boost makes the game seem brand new. Let me share a few: I was having a somewhat large shootout with Bandits, I shot one and he wandered away. I was slowly taking the bandits out one by one, but I was bleeding and was about to die (I PLAY ON MASTER, YEAH.) then this bandit I shot earlier comes waddling over to me, and just collapses and dies, so I take his bandage and heal myself. Technically, this bandit saved my life. Another time, It was just a Duty guy and me, I shot a bandit and he fell over and started bleeding out. The Duty walks up to him, shoots him in the head, then shoots him 5 more times on the ground. He then walks away like nothing happened. I don’t like Duty anymore. I had another one, but I just forgot everything I was thinking about, ha.

Finally, you may of heard about this video that Rei-Sama sent to Dave, which Stan preceded to hack. I had a prominent part in promoting this news, and posting it on the TnB forums. Before I turn this into a bash Dave post I want to state that I originally believed it, but when I tried to get Stan to further prove it by taking a simple printscreen of Dave’s email, he responsed with something like “Zoom in on the face, you fucker.” Then logs of Rei-Sama being butthurt about the video. So, I presume this as non-creditable truth until I can get further proof. Either way, it was still funny as hell and I have been mortally wounded by this video. We ended up shutting down the TnB forums for quite some time by simply posting it, like what? 3 Times. Here was my final post incase you missed it

Ignore the manic-depressed post title, actually don’t. Lately I’ve been falling deep into depression again, no, not really. But I have defiantly been feeling down, for several personal reasons which I don’t want to share publicly. I guess I have too many stresses in my life at the moment, and I think I’m flunking math, which doesn’t help. At all.

So to relieve stress, I’ve been chilling irl with friends. The only thing I’ve done computer-wise recently is fine tune my ArmA 2 mission (I told you guys I’d learn how). In this mission you are a militia man, defending Vybor from oppressive CDF capture late at night. You pose as one of the many civilians running ramped through the streets, until you meet up with the Freedom Fighters in the center of town. Then you arm up, and attempt to hold off a few tanks and several large squads of CDF special forces, basically impossible. I did take pictures of an Alpha version I made earlier this week. Parts of the mission script was broken, and the switch between civilian and guerrilla was non-existent, but as I said it has been fine tuned.

Enough of that.

In case you were wondering, the manic-depressed quote at the top is from Eyedea & Abilities new CD I just bought (By the Throat). It really doesn’t sound anything like his old stuff, but it’s still good. I’ll describe it how Eyedea did: Post-Mathcore Grunge Hop. I haven’t heard the whole thing yet, but it has 3-4 good songs so far. I guess that’s my blog update for toda-night.

There is many reasons why I haven’t been updating the blog, the first and most important is that my PC DIED and I formatted everything. Due to Rick not being online, I was unable to retrieve my password until last night. The Second, is school. 10th Grade AP and Honors classes are hard as fuck, I barely have time to come online and do anything, much less update a blog that a silent majority reads. I’m talking to you, Dale. And all you other peeps that read this blog and never leave a comment, but care enough to check back every other day to see if I updated it. I would write more but I have to write 7 paragraphs for English tomorrow, good night guys. I’ll update this more, at least. Just know that the blog isn’t dead or abandoned yet.

How’s it going you guys, I want to talk about a few new things. Firstly and foremost I want to talk about a new community that I am now a part of, Epsilon RP, located here. Basically for the last few days Monkey and Wolly’s community (MWRP) and ParadoxRP which was recently attacked for being StalkerRP because obviously only HGN can do StalkerRP you guys because it’s their unique genre and they made it up, because there defiantly wasn’t at least 15 StalkerRP communities before them. Anyways, they merged, they will have three RP genre’s; Starship Troopers, Stalker, and Post-Apoc. So I’m pretty excited about this, I’m helping out with Post-Apoc. So yeah, check it out.

While we are on the subject of cool stuff, I also want to thank Mr Papa for drawing that picture and making this page, pretty cool.

Next, I want to you guys to give me your opinion of me adding a few new writers to this blog, I’ve had a few requests but I don’t really know what to do. You can decide in the comments. The runners up are Waffler, Mr Papa and Sigma/Tehninja. WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Speaking of that, I Should start the forums here back up, but nah. I’ll save that for some time when serious drama is going down and we need a unbiased uncensored area of trolls and butthurt people.

Next, I want to talk about the broad subject of the future of the internet, and how it looks grim. We’ve all been here since the internet started to mature, we were there when the original Addicting Games launched, we saw YouTube start, we saw the massive growth of Myspace and Facebook and now Twitter and how they’ve changed our communications with friends online and off. But now it seems to mostly be all about the money, everything is becoming a business model and the internet as we know it is going to change. Advertising revenues are down, online news doesn’t make enough money without a subscription business model. YouTube was forced to change it’s business model due to the half a billion dollar loses due to some gay corporate copyright claims by Viacom. Now people pay to get “Featured” and internet viral videos are losing to already huge companies. Soon users may even have to pay to host videos on YouTube, and sites that replace YouTube will get the same DMCA shit YouTube got. The Net Neutrality scare went on for a while, and is still widely thought about by ISP’s, let’s hope Obama will actually ban it like he said he would. Myspace and Facebook are both operating in the red aswell. Of course, we will still have the underground websites, hosting shit, avoiding copyright but they are never as popular as the originals for some reason. The “major” websites has gone into a Get rich or die mode, because if they don’t get money they will have to cut back on hosting, which they probably view as worse then censoring videos and having people pay to get featured vids. The free benefits are going to die out, but who knows: this could actually improve the quality of everything.

Finally, I want to talk about ArmA 2 again. This is by far my favorite game right now. I’ve come across many missions and I’ve been playing Domination the most. I really want a Dynamic War thing to come out, I heard about a Guerrilla Dynamic Single Player mission by the same guy, sounds awesome. Vopsound added great immersion with sound for me, and I can’t wait for ACE Combat Environment. I’ve decided I wanted to learn how to script ArmA 2 missions, if I actually attempt to start this goal I’ll post some progress.

Thanks School. Yeah, it just started and it sucks for everyone. This year is especially bad, for me atleast. I got 2 pages of homework the first day, fuck ALGEBRA 2. Oh, I missed the bus too, so I had to call my brother to drive me to class. I was 10 minutes late to my first period, great. My 3rd period was pretty cool, besides the fact that it was mostly senior guys, but still fun. Webtech or w/e it’s called, teacher is also nice. 5th period was gym, which we sat in a corner and talked while the teacher dragged on about how we would Run, and Run and etc. I had C lunch, which is 2nd to last lunch period, on my way there I got offered DRUGS. I obviously accepted and got so high on heroin I didn’t remember my 7th period english class, whose teacher is a bald 30 year old. He didn’t say much, then we watched some shitty obama speech. And I took my bus home. I saw some of my brothers friends, and some older kids I knew. Fun times. I DON’T THINK ANY OF YOU GUYS CARE ABOUT MY SCHOOL DAY THOUGH WHICH IS WHY I HAVE NOT BEEN UPDATING THE BLOG WITH BORING

Actually, that’s a really bad title for this post. I’ve been enjoying my last days before school starts, by not doing much. I’ve been AFK for a while, hanging out with friends, doing the usual. Right now it’s pretty nice out, 65 degrees and windy, feels nice (I’m writing this at 2am, lol). None of you guys care about that, though, since you are all antisocial losers. So let’s talk movies. I’ve been watching a whole bunch because I recently got a netflix account.

I’ll start with Blade Runner. I did not see the original; the version I got was the final cut, I have no idea if this makes any difference or not (Someone please tell me if it does). A little background: The movie takes place 2019 (LOL, It was written in the 80’s, ok?) In Los Angeles. Though it looks nothing like Los Angeles today, everything is in Chinese, majority of people are asian, the streets are overcrowded and polluted and generally the atmosphere of this movie was amazing, but dark. You could really see the advancements on technology, and their dependence on it. You also learn that everybody (with money) immigrated from earth after a dubbed “World War III”. The world looked generally shitty, almost post apocalyptic. It’s hard to explain with words. Humans created Androids/Robots that mimicked humans, called replicants. They were equal in intelligence to the engineers the created them, and obviously had better strength and agility than humans. They were used for off-world slave labor, and eventually they rebelled. They were banned from ever returning to earth on punishment of death, called a retirement. The police that hunt these replicants are called Blade Runners.

Now while this story is interesting and in-depth enough, and the atmosphere is great: The delivery is horrible. The movie follows a Blade Runner named Deckard (played by Harrison Ford) as he is called in and told to track five replicants, they all had specific tasks but I only remember the two main ones: the combat model and the pleasure model. The movie starts with a man interviewing a replicant, with a illogical empathy test. Replicants eyes do weird shit when they take this test, which is how they find them. Afer the replicant is found out he shoots the tester in the face, and runs off. Lot’s of cuts, and the directing made this movie real slow, I ended up talking to my parents (Who were watching it with me) about how different everything was, and how people thought of this shit back then, and why we didn’t have flying cars yet. Many other random things too. The slow pace really threw my family off-track, so we didn’t really know what was going on for about 10 minutes. Plus it was like 12am and we were tired. There was many unneeded scenes, the only action was him shooting the replicants (except towards the end), no romance at all, and thin dialogue (When dialouge happens, it’s pretty good though). There was a few humorous scenes, like when he parked his car and a few kids walked over and started taking parts off of his car, and he speeds off. That added to the atmosphere too. If you can somehow make it to the end, it has a great twist. Overall it was a pretty bad movie, directing wise. Could of been good, but it wasn’t. Don’t watch unless you’re really interested in the story, bored, and have nothing else to do. 3/10. (If you want to see more of the atmosphere, just click this, and you’ll get an idea)

The next movie I saw was called They Live, it was directed by John Carpenter, and sounded good. It was one of the worst movies i’ve ever seen, so i’m not going to waste my time reviewing it. It has the funniest fight scene ever though.

As you can see from my netflix screenshot, I also saw Equilibrium. I heard this movie was really great, and well done from many people. I thought it was pretty good, but it was just so unrealistic and didn’t focus enough on the underground/resistance part of the film. I didn’t feel connected to any characters except the dog they were about to kill (;-;) either. Basically the movie is a mix of 1984, The Matrix and maybe some other dystopian films. This world, also takes place after a Third World War, except humanity decided they could no longer fight eachother. The only cure (obviously), was to stop all human emotions, which is done by injecting this drug into your neck. The world is ruled by the Tetragrammaton Council which is lead by a Big Brother like figure called “Father”. They want to create identical lives for every human being and they use their massive police force to enforce it. All forms of art, books, painting, tables, etc.. are banned by them. If you are caught with them you are incinerated, which is equivalent to being burned alive. They also burn all forms of art they find. Despite the councils attempts though, a underground civilization exists, which is also a resistance movement hence “The Underground”. The movie follows “Christian Bale” (I cannot remember protagonists name) the highest ranking Cleric in the police forces. Early on you see him unrealistically killing 10-12 resistance members matrix style, and burn artwork. His partner is found to be reading a book, and he stopped taking his drugs. He is incinerated. The Cleric decides to not take his drugs. That’s the base of it, he fools the police forces, gets thrown into the underground, and attempts to assassinate father. The combat was kinda ridiculous, but the story was alright. I would go more in-depth like I did with Blade Runner, but it’s kinda late. 6/10.

Aside from movies, I’ve been watching Battlestar Galactica, and to anyone who likes Sci-Fi/Drama TV shows, I highly recommend it to you. Great, great show. I only got about 4 episodes left though. :(

Let’s talk about Garry’s Mod and Garry’s implementation of Lua. As many of you know (Thanks Rick), several Garry’s Mod gamemodes were leaked recently including all of Noxious Net’s SHIT. This is good a thing. Why? Many people (including me) learn things, especially programming by previous example. This is how I learned Python. This probably means Garry’s mod will go open source, or at least that guy will continue leaking everything. It’s important to do this because of the scarce gamemodes for Garry’s mod atm, everything currently seems to be derived from a outdated gamemode probably because the Lua tutorials at the Gmod Wiki, SUCK. All the elitist, egostistical coders will probably quit. or accept change, It’s funny how much they care when everyone else doesn’t give a shit. Going open source isn’t a community killer, nor has it ever hurt anyone (Unless it was a source code LEAK.). Though, it might fuck up Noxious Net a bit. I don’t think it will do much to Kuromeku’s community or TnB due to their scripts being leaked 100 times before.

Oh yeah, you can’t copyright a Lua gamemode for A Mod of a game created by Valve unless you get permission from Valve, Garry, Lua and all of those people. Have fun faking copyright, while nobody gives a shit.  :)
